Despite the long quarantine and a significant decrease in passenger traffic at checkpoints on the state border of Ukraine, border guards note a significant increase in the number of trips by Ukrainian citizens to some countries. At the same time, the volume of foreigners arriving in Ukraine is also increasing. This was reported to the State Border Service.
And they named the TOP-10 countries followed by Ukrainians and ten foreign states whose citizens most often came to Ukraine in the first half of 2021.
Poland remains the leader among Ukrainians - more than 1,9 million citizens traveled to the neighboring country in the first half of the year. The second position with a growth of more than six times (compared to the first half of 2020) was taken by Turkey - 774,5 thousand people visited this country. Ukrainians Third place with a double increase and a total of more than 705 thousand. Egypt occupied the number of trips of Ukrainian citizens.
As for foreign citizens who visited Ukraine in the first six months of the current year, the largest increase was demonstrated by Turkey (+ 29% compared to the same period last year). The number of German citizens increased by 6%. Insignificant in absolute terms, but very significant in comparison, is a one-and-a-half-fold increase in the number of US citizens arriving in Ukraine in the first half of 2021.
