The new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi said that as a result of the audit of the military units, the General Staff revised the mobilization of 500 Ukrainians downwards, but he did not name the exact number of the army's needs.
"It is necessary to take into account the fact that people are not robots. They are exhausted, physically and psychologically, especially in combat conditions. For example, those people who came to the TCC in February 2022 need rest and treatment. They need to recover and rest, and this is an objective necessity. And there are many such parts," he said in an interview with journalists.
According to Sirskyi, the General Staff is also reviewing the number of certain units that do not take part in hostilities, based on an audit of their activities. This made it possible to release thousands of servicemen and direct them to combat units on the front line.
