On June 27, the American missile destroyer USS Ross of the Sixth Fleet of the US Navy arrived in Odessa port. This is reported on Facebook on the official page of the Naval Forces of Ukraine.
The ship arrived in Odessa to participate in the Sea Breeze-2021 international exercises, which will start on June 28. This year they have 32 countries will participate.
The destroyer is named after Captain Donald Kirby Ross, a World War II hero who was awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroism during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.
Previously, the USS Ross crew had already taken part in the Sea Breeze 2016 exercise and then spent several days in Odessa. Also, the ship called in Odessa port in December 2019.
