Corruption schemes with the certification of sailors will be liquidated within two months. This was stated by Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Krykry in an interview, commenting on the sailors' video appeal.
He noted that the Ministry has already liquidated the Inspectorate for training and certification of seafarers.
"According to the government's August decision, these inspections should disappear in November. Therefore, the impression from this video: those who work in these inspections decided to "breathe" before death. There really were a lot of corruption factors: a bunch of incomprehensible paperwork, labyrinths of bureaucracy. We will eliminate all this. There will be two places (later three) where you can do this. Firstly, through the sailor's electronic account, but the state one. There they created a service that works through agents. We wrote a complaint to the police, they told me that the "bench" had already been covered," the minister said.
The functions of the Inspection will be performed by the Maritime Administration, Kryklyi clarified. Seafarers will be able to submit documents to the central body of the Maritime Administration free of charge: either through the CPAU or through the bases of the Maritime Service (Kherson, Odesa, Mariupol and Izmail).
"It will still be necessary to regulate the cost of administrative services, but the main purpose of all this is this: sailors must pass all tests and exams in examination classes equipped with computers, and not in front of the commission (because it is always a human factor)," Krykly clarified.
As a reminder, the SBU exposed the systemic corruption mechanism in the preparation of qualification documents and seaman's certificates in Odessa.
