Today, October 7, the results of the National ranking of influence "Elite of Ukraine" were presented in Kyiv, and the organizers and experts commented on the results. This was discussed during a press conference in the UNIAN press center.
It should be noted that the Top 100 includes both politicians and businessmen, as well as athletes, doctors, public and cultural figures. The list was headed by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
As Elena Ovchinnikova, the head of the rating organizing committee and the chairman of the board of the International Expert Club, told, the experts focused on the personal qualities of each rating participant and chose those who made a significant contribution to the development of society and our state.
"We deliberately created the rating in order to explain that the word "elite" is not equal to the word "influence" in our society today. And this despite the fact that these two words currently have a more negative connotation in our Ukrainian society. The rating was conceived precisely in order to get away from this negative paradigm, to vote for those people who meet the criteria defined in this rating," she said and reminded that there were ten such criteria.
This is public recognition and trust; official status and personal achievements, resources and sources of influence; competence and professionalism, mind, intelligence, education, literacy, intelligence; financial independence; charity, patronage, volunteering; patriotism; high moral qualities; social responsibility, reputational integrity; the ability to achieve set goals, independence in decision-making.
In turn, the founder and organizer of the all-Ukrainian festival "Muromets Fest", the founder of the "JKGroup" holding, Yulia Kurokhtina, noted that if earlier, many Ukrainians associated the "elite" with the government, now the emphasis is shifting towards public people. That is, publicity has become equal to success.
"For this reason, I was not surprised by the presence of Alexander Usyk and Wladimir Klitschko in the top ten. Regarding why Klitschko is higher in the rating than his brother, the mayor of Kyiv, we will explain everything here. Vitaliy Klitschko is ranked lower, because in our country there is a tendency - when professionals in some field start to engage in politics, a kind of anti-rating is formed. What happened, for example, with Vitaly," the expert summarized.
Vadym Kubyvskyi, the general producer of the Televsesvit channel, added that politicians still play an important role for people. Thus, Leonid Kravchuk and Leonid Kuchma made up Vladimir Zelenskyi's company in the top ten. Both were involved in the Trilateral Contact Group for a peaceful settlement of the situation in eastern Ukraine.
"It would probably be great to hold such a rating abroad so that not Ukrainians cast their votes, but residents of neighboring countries. Because in fact, in other countries, little is known about our country. Athletes and politicians are listening. However, people are less interested in politics abroad than in us, as we are a politicized society," Vadym Kubyvskyi said.
Political technologist, managing partner of the company "SIC Group Ukraine", Member of IGAPA Ekaterina Odarchenko noticed that the results of the rating, especially online, were largely influenced by the recognition of one or another candidate. In addition, another aspect of thinking played its role: voting for the strong.
"This is what works in elections as well. For example, people prefer to give preference to a strong party. And so here: why should a person vote for a good therapist, if there is, for example, Akhmetov, who is thousands of times more influential. In my opinion, this is wrong, but the rating broadens the scope and puts the same therapist and oligarch in the same conditions," the political technologist emphasized.
Elena Ovchynnikova added that the National Forum for the Development of Ukraine is planned to be held in Kyiv next March.
"It is a big task to gather people who today experts call the elite. It is these people who today represent Ukraine, influence it and interact with all of us. The main task of the forum: to form a new strategy for the development of our country through joint efforts, so that we can see all the challenges that are facing us today and respond to them with dignity," Elena Ovchinnikova summarized.
