The Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked a ship of the Russian Federation

Ukrainian soldiers attacked the large amphibious assault ship Kostyantyn Olshansky, which was captured by the occupiers in Crimea in 2014, with the Neptune missile system. About this said spokesman of the Naval Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Pletenchuk, on FREEDOM.

"Here, the detective story unfolded around the large landing ship Kostyantyn Olshansky. This ship was to be used against Ukraine, unfortunately. Therefore, it was decided to destroy this unit with our Neptune. The impression was also made. The damage is being verified, he definitely received damage. He is not ready for combat now." he said.

The Kostiantyn Olshansky ship is a Ukrainian VDK that was captured by Russian forces during the annexation of Crimea 10 years ago, in 2014.

"For nine years it stood in the Sevastopol bay, it was disassembled for spare parts, it was just banally robbed. And on the 10th year of the war, they realized that they were running out of large landing ships of this project, No. 775, and a decision was made to restore it. During the year, it was docked and restoration work was carried out." Pletenchuk noted.

He added that the purpose of these works was to make a falsification in order to report to the Moscow leadership about how they restored one of their supposedly "own" BDCs.

"It could be either Minsk or Olenegorsk mine, because the nature of the damage there is such that their restoration is still in question. And, accordingly, there was such an idea — to pass our ship off as one of them." Pletenchuk said.

It was previously reported that another Russian ship, the Ivan Khurs, could have been damaged during a missile attack on Crimea on March 23.
