After a street conflict in Ivano-Frankivsk, when a local resident attacked musicians for performing a song in Russian, the mayor banned singing in Russian in the city.
"The public performance of works in the Russian language is not allowed, including those that may incite inter-ethnic, ethnic, racial or religious enmity and hatred, or discrimination of human rights and freedoms of an obscene nature," said the city's mayor, Ruslan Martsinkiv.
The implementation of these requirements will be monitored by the Municipal Inspectorate and law enforcement agencies.
Marcinkiv also instructed to regulate the work of street musicians.
"Today, by the decision of the executive committee, we are streamlining the organization of street art performances in the city. In particular, it was agreed: at certain locations, an artist or a group can perform continuously for no longer than two hours without installing any stage structures," says the message.
It is noted that there should be a break between performances of at least 30 minutes. Also, street performances of different artists or groups can be held at a distance of at least 100 m from each other.
