The government of Brazil is unhappy with Apple's decision to stop packing its smartphones with chargers, starting with the iPhone 12. So the authorities have stopped the sale of iPhones that do not come with chargers and are demanding a fine of $2,3 million.
The ban in Brazil comes just a day before Apple's Far Out event, where the new iPhone 14 is expected to be unveiled (it likely won't come with a charger). According to Brazilian newspaper Folha de S.Paulo, the iPhone 12 is still on sale in Brazil on Apple's website.
Tech giant Apple said it would appeal the Brazilian government's decision.
