Zelensky believes that 2021 will be the year of economic growth in Ukraine

Advisor to the President of Ukraine on economic issues Oleg Ustenko predicts that in 2021 the Ukrainian economy will begin to recover

Advisor to the President of Ukraine on economic issues Oleg Ustenko predicts that in 2021 the Ukrainian economy will begin to recover thanks to positive trends in foreign markets and the monetary policy of the National Bank.

"If we are talking about 2021 at all, we expect that it will be an hour of economic growth, an hour of gradual recovery of the entire global economy, and, of course, the Ukrainian economy," Ustenko was quoted as saying by the president's website on Sunday.

The adviser to the president noted the improvement of the situation on the global financial markets.

"After the end of the election campaign in the USA and before the recent inauguration of the 46th President of the USA, Joe Biden, all stock markets started to grow, which means that both creditors and investors began to show activity. In general, international markets grew by more than 15% during this time. This means that investors who were previously looking for "quiet havens" are now looking for investment opportunities. This means that Ukraine, which is in the group of countries with developing markets, can already actively compete for the resource and count on a global investment event," he noted.

Another additional impetus for economic growth, according to Ustenko, can be state programs to stimulate the economy, such as "Big construction" and the construction of large infrastructure facilities, because this contributes to the creation of jobs, supports Ukrainian machine building, etc.

"In addition, there is a forecast that in 2021 the world will emerge from the crisis associated with the coronavirus pandemic. Ukraine will start receiving the vaccine. There are constant negotiations with the Ministry of Health, the President of Ukraine communicates with the leaders of foreign states about the possibility of obtaining a Ukrainian vaccine, and there is hope that it will be implemented quickly enough," Ustenko emphasized.

According to the president's adviser, all these factors will contribute to the Ukrainian economy's recovery.

"The recovery trajectory will be at the level of 2021-4% growth in 4,5. Perhaps the growth will be even greater if it is possible to actively attract investment resources into the economy - not only from outside, but also from within the country," Ustenko summed up.
