There is currently no water or gas in Slovyansk, and electricity is supplied intermittently due to the proximity of high-voltage lines to the war zone. Under such conditions, it will not be possible to start the heating season with the onset of cold weather.
This was announced by the head of the city military administration, Vadym Lyakh
We understand that if the temperature is below zero, the tank [with water] will freeze. The tank, which we drive and leave overnight, will freeze. You will heat your apartment if there is electricity, but the sewage system freezes. Here you have to seriously think about how to proceed, how to survive. It will survive because there will be no heating season," Lyakh said.
He again called on the residents of the city to evacuate, stressing that the Russian troops will still attempt an assault.
Lyakh reported that about 22 thousand people remain in Sloviansk, of which about 3-4 thousand are children.
