Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Helga Maria Schmid said that this association is ready to support peace talks between Ukraine and Russia. The secretary general made the corresponding statement on Friday, March 3, at the Hamburg town hall.
Schmid recalled the words of the President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, who, taking into account the "peace plan" of China, called for negotiations with the participation of Moscow and, above all, Kyiv. Steinmeier emphasized that the ability of the People's Republic of China to play a constructive role in the settlement of the conflict between Ukraine and Russia is questionable. "If this is so, (and this role will be possible. — Ed. ), then in any case, China should talk not only with Moscow, but also with Kyiv," the German president emphasized.
"I can only agree with this and add that the OSCE will also make its contribution at this moment," the Secretary General noted.

However, "the aggressive war against Ukraine is not a failure of my organization or a multilateral approach," the Secretary General stressed, pointing out that it was a "conscious decision by the leadership of one country" that contradicted "all obligations and all norms."
