Cryptocurrency exchanges have announced the temporary suspension of operations through hryvnia bank cards. The problem, in particular, was confirmed at Binance.
"Currently, fiat channels, namely input and withdrawal through a bank card and other payment services, are temporarily suspended among cryptocurrency exchanges throughout Ukraine," the trading platform said in a statement.
In the comments ForkLog UA representatives of Binance emphasized that this happened against the background of restrictions of the National Bank of Ukraine. The exchange recommended users to conduct transactions through a P2P service.
Mykhailo Chobanyan, the founder of the Ukrainian cryptocurrency exchange Kuna, also acknowledged the existence of problems.
"About card hryvnia and input/output on the stock exchange. Yes, it does not work for everyone. In short, we are looking for ways out of the situation, the entire Ukrainian [crypto market with cashless hryvnia] is in danger of being stopped," — posted he is in his Telegram channel.
At the time of writing, the NBU has not commented on the situation.
As a reminder, starting from March 16, 2022, PrivatBank temporarily prohibited its clients from trading hryvnias on cryptocurrency exchanges. The restriction is related to the decision of the NBU and is valid for the period of martial law.
At the same time, monobank informed ForkLog UA that cross-border transfers are limited, but there should be no difficulties with hryvnia operations within Ukraine.
At the end of April, with the aim of reducing the outflow of capital from the country, the NBU limited the purchase of cryptocurrencies to the amount of 100 hryvnias per person per month.
