The European Commission decided to suspend the financing of development projects in the Palestinian territories after the aggression of the terrorist group Hamas against Israel, the newspaper writes Financial Times.
According to Vargea, "the scale of terror and brutality against Israel and its people is a tipping point" after which there cannot be "business as usual".
"As the largest donor to the Palestinians, the European Commission is reviewing its entire portfolio of development projects totaling €691 million," - said the European Commissioner.
In addition, the European Commission "immediately suspends" payments under existing projects for Palestine, reviews all projects, and new proposals for financing aid to the Palestinians are postponed "until further notice."
"The foundations of peace, tolerance and coexistence need immediate solutions. Incitement to hatred, violence and the glorification of terror have poisoned the minds of too many people. We need action, and we need it now.", - concluded Vargei.
