On Wednesday, June 7, the Institute of Democracy named after Pylypa Orlyka conducts another free event master class "Profession of a fixer: from a beginner to a content producer" in Odessa.
The organizers invite everyone who works or wants to be a fixer.
Coach and local producer - fixer with over twenty years of experience, associate professor of the Department of New Media of the Faculty of Journalism of the Lviv National University named after Ivan Franko Yuriy Zaliznyak. Among its partners and clients are Knight digital media center, BBC, ABC news and other international media.
We invite you to the participation of journalists, beginner fixers, students of the faculties of journalism, linguistics, translators, and all those interested who would like to see themselves as a professional fixer.
During Yuriy Zaliznyak's master class, you will learn:
- How to become a fixer?
- What level of security can the fixer expect?
- What are the moral and ethical frameworks of working as a foreign reporter in your home country during wartime?
- Methods of avoiding conflicts at work
- Peculiarities of cooperation with local authorities
- The specifics of preparing for a trip outside the "comfort zone"
- How to outgrow the role of a fixer and become a content producer?
