By saving Putin's face, you can lose your own. After all, any agreement with an aggressor country is a guarantee of new wars in the future. To really end the war and achieve a stable world, it is necessary to defeat the Russian army and overthrow Putin's regime. And for this, Ukraine and the EU need unity, weapons and sanctions.
This was stated by Yulia Tymoshenko, the leader of the "Batkivshchyna" party, speaking during the Congress of the European People's Party (EPP) in Rotterdam.
"Those who call to "save Putin's face" are his accomplices and risk losing their identity forever! Any agreement with the Kremlin is not the end of the war, it is a guarantee of new wars in the future. Only the defeat of the Russian army and Putin's regime will lead to a quick end to the war and a stable world!" - she emphasized.
According to Yulia Tymoshenko, the formula for the joint victory of the free world over the Kremlin is unity, weapons and sanctions.
The politician emphasized that democracy and security in Europe should become indivisible. This means that all countries that profess common European values and are ready to defend them should become members of the EU and NATO. Authoritarian countries must remain behind the wall of civilization and in complete isolation with destroyed economies and ineffective armies.
That is why Yulia Tymoshenko urged those present to contribute in every possible way to Ukraine's membership in the EU and NATO.
Sometimes it seems that Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia are on their knees begging for EU membership, allegedly against the interests of the member states. But this is absolutely not the case. All the countries of Europe are interested in the fact that there will never be war and destabilization. This is possible only when Russia cannot blackmail and threaten others with war, because they will be reliably protected by membership in the EU and NATO. This is what guarantees stability and long-term peace in Europe," she emphasized.
According to Yulia Tymoshenko, if the EU does not realize the importance of its mission this time and denies our countries membership, it will lead to the creation of alternative unions on the European continent and increase the threat of disintegration of the European Union.
In addition, the head of the Batkivshchyna party called on the European People's Party to take the lead in changing the order of decision-making in the EU in the field of security and foreign policy regarding consensus to a qualified majority.
"This will allow us to unblock the adoption of any important decisions, put an end to fatal dependence on Russia, introduce a full embargo on Russian energy carriers, and remove obstacles to providing Ukraine with weapons. After the adoption of this decision, the Kremlin will no longer be able to export instability, corruption and war to your countries along with oil, gas and vodka!" - she added.
At the Congress, the key topics were the protection of democracy and the demonstration of support and solidarity with the Ukrainian nation, which at this dramatic moment for its country and the European continent is fighting not only for its freedom and future, but also for the values on the basis of which the European Union was created.
At the event, "Batkivshchyna" was also represented by the deputy chairman of the "Batkivshchyna" party, the first deputy chairman of the VRU Committee on Foreign Policy Hryhoriy Nemyrya and People's Deputy Serhiy Vlasenko.
