I am extremely negative about the idea of exporting Ukrainian grain to Lithuanian and Latvian ports through Belarus.
Ukrainian grain, grown by our farmers, processed on our land, preserved thanks to the heroism of our Armed Forces, will have to travel 550 km through territory that is not only hostile, but also not friendly at all. Instead of a forehead hit, enemies will get another red button. And tomorrow they will say: If you do not give us Odessa without a fight, we will not let your trains go. The terrorists get a plane from Bruce Willis, a million dollars complete with all the hostages - it's over the edge.
In addition to another lever of pressure on the world, the transit plan will bring Lukashenko a lot of money. The railway fare will be paid in full in all countries of the route. Tens of millions of euros will appear in the accounts of the regime, which kills students in basements because of improper posts in social networks.
In addition, about five billion dollars for potash is the only real reason for Belarus to agree to the transit of Ukrainian cargo. Sanctions stopped the export of potash fertilizers, their global price tripled. Under such a schedule, the lifting of sanctions, which Belarus needs, will quickly give it a large foreign exchange profit. The humanitarian route also turns out to be extremely profitable, a win-win, let's say.
Another argument is that large trucking involves a large number of employees involved in the process - workers of various professions, related businesses. These are beehives that come to life when the cargo travels. The Belarusian people are not the master of Belarus, we know many examples. And at a time when thousands of people in Ukraine have lost their livelihood and cannot support their children, increasing the employment rate of citizens of another country is a rather ambiguous decision.
The essence is as follows: it is proposed not to put a bullet in the forehead of the terrorists who broke down the door to our house with boots, kill and rape our people, destroy our economy and show the middle finger to the whole world in response to the timid question about hunger, but to give them concessions, money, opportunities for new maneuvers
At the same time, with redoubled force, without looking in the face, it is declared that these are not exactly terrorists, but their very close friends.
I propose to deal with a really important matter — the practical unblocking of Ukrainian ports with the use of convoys escorted by the UN and powerful weapons, primarily air defense, instead of opaque schemes stained with the blood of Ukrainians.
Now, in addition to grain, which is essential for life, Ukrainian warehouses store 20 million tons of ore and coal, metal, sunflower and soybean oil, and there are containers. All this gives work to large and small enterprises, fills the budget, returns foreign exchange earnings to the country and raises it.
It is Ukraine that needs to rise now, not Belarus. Few people would want to challenge that.
