Under martial law, energy companies can quickly restore the power system, but repairs require equipment that takes at least 6 months to manufacture. Andriy Gerus, the head of the parliamentary committee on energy and housing, announced this on the air of the national telethon.
"The equipment, which is in the warehouses of our European partners, is already on its way to Ukraine, it is quickly transferred. However, during this winter, it is impossible to restore all the damaged objects of the energy infrastructure. The Ukrainian energy system is under constant fire from the Russian occupiers, Europe does not have the amount of equipment that Ukraine needs, it will take at least 6 months to manufacture it," Gerus said.
He also added that not all available equipment in Europe is suitable for Ukraine's needs, for example, in some European countries the voltage class of transformers differs from our standards. But Ukraine has its reserves, many energy equipment is repaired by its own forces.
