Ukrainian satellite "Sich-2-30", which was launched into Earth orbit on January 13, could not establish a stable connection with the Earth due to a lack of energy. Specialists independently rebooted the device and switched it to energy-saving mode. About this сообщили in the press service of the "Yuzhnoe" design bureau.
Due to the lost stable connection, the specialists were unable to provide a timely construction of the standard orientation of the satellite.
"The orientation remained such that only solar radiation reflected from the Earth's surface or short-term direct radiation at a sufficiently small angle falls on the working surface of the solar battery," the press service writes.
Specialists claim that this led to a negative impact on the energy balance of the satellite. However, during the subsequent sessions, no failures of the on-board equipment were detected.
"There is a connection, but it is intermittent due to a lack of energy. At the same time, there were no on-board equipment failures. In the current conditions, it functions normally," said the chief designer and head of the bureau, Konstantin Belousov.
He assured that during the next 1-2 months, the position of the satellite will become favorable for the renewal of its electricity and the transfer of the orientation to the standard one.
