The head of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom, spoke sharply about revaccination (the third dose of the vaccine) against the coronavirus and called on the country to introduce a moratorium on revaccination at least until 2022.
"Once again, we draw attention to the fact that millions of people in the world have not received even one dose of the vaccine at a time when other states have already started revaccination. We do not plan to remain silent when the states that control the supply of vaccines think that poor countries should make do with leftover vaccines," he said, adding that the WHO still does not see the point in the widespread use of booster doses for fully vaccinated persons.
At the same time, the US had previously opposed the moratorium. President Joe Biden believes that the government should do everything to protect citizens from the coronavirus.
