In Ukraine, mandatory reading of the QR code of COVID-certificates was introduced: for violation, large fines

The amount of fines is up to 170 thousand hryvnias.

Everything is COVID certificates in Ukraine must now be read through the Diya application, and not just visually checked.

As Viktor Lyashko, the head of the Ministry of Health, said, considerable fines are provided for non-compliance with this norm.

According to him, representatives of institutions should now not just ask about the presence of a certificate or check their visual presence at the entrance to the institution, but should read the QR code of the COVID-certificates with their smartphone using the Diya application.

"Without reading the certificate, the document is considered unsubmitted and unverified," the minister emphasized.

If visitors and employees do not have the necessary documents, the owner of the establishment faces a fine of 34 to 170 hryvnias.

In addition, the Ministry of Health shortened the validity period of "yellow" COVID-certificates four times - from 120 to 30 days. Now it will be valid for 30 days, instead of 120 days, as before.

We note that Viktor Lyashko recently stated that more than 600 thousand Ukrainians did not come for the second dose of the COVID-vaccination. Perhaps the reduction of the validity period of "yellow" certificates will serve as an effective incentive to receive the second vaccination.
