The famous epidemiologist Mikhail Favorov, the developer of the Ukrainian vaccine against the coronavirus, believes that the incidence of COVID-19 will only decrease in the coming weeks and months.
He stated this on the air of the program "Freedom of Speech by Savik Shuster".
"I think that in the month of April, everyone will report that we, it is we, defeated COVID. But this is a seasonal disease, and we have passed the season. We finished the covid season until the next one, until October 2021," Favorov said.
In his opinion, Ukraine has coped well with the current coronavirus epidemic
"Ukraine went through quite an epidemic. Today, we have a mortality rate at the level of November, while the morbidity rate is at the level of October. Because mortality is always delayed, sometimes up to three months," explained Favorov.
The epidemiologist assumes that the British strain of coronavirus has already entered Ukraine, but did not lead to a sharp increase in morbidity and mortality.
