Unvaccinated Ukrainians will begin to be removed from work on November 8

People with contraindications to the COVID-vaccination will not be affected by the suspension.

Workers from the list of professions where COVID vaccinations are considered mandatory, and those who have not been vaccinated, will begin to be removed from work on November 8. This is provided for by new amendments to decree No. 1236, which was adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

Control over the implementation of mandatory preventive vaccinations is entrusted to the heads of state bodies and established.

They are obliged to remove from work employees who refuse or refuse to undergo vaccination without saving their salary.

Workers who have received a medical certificate that there are contraindications to the COVID-vaccination will not be affected by the suspension.

"Employees of certain professions, industries and organizations, the activities of which may lead to the infection of these employees and (or) the spread of infectious diseases by them, are subject to mandatory prophylactic vaccinations also against other relevant infectious diseases. In the case of refusal or evasion of mandatory preventive vaccinations in accordance with the procedure established by law, these workers are excluded from performing the specified types of work. The list of professions, industries and organizations whose employees are subject to mandatory preventive vaccinations against other relevant infectious diseases is established by the central executive body, which ensures the formation of state policy in the field of health care", - this is how the Cabinet of Ministers argues the legality of suspension from work, referring to part 2 of Article 12 of the Law on the Protection of the Population from Infectious Diseases.

The employee will be suspended until the immunization course is completed.

We would like to add that the list of organizations whose representatives are subject to compulsory vaccination against the coronavirus includes employees:

  • central bodies of executive power and their territorial bodies;
  • local state administrations and their structural subdivisions;
  • institution of higher, post-graduate, professional before higher education, professional (professional-technical), general secondary, including special, preschool, extracurricular education, institution of specialized education and scientific institution, regardless of the type and form of ownership.

It is not excluded that this list will be expanded and then it will include social workers, workers of state-owned enterprises, institutions, organizations, workers of critically important spheres of the economy.
