Residents of multi-story buildings will have to pay extra for gas pipes

When the pipes are handed over to new contractors, if you suspect a gas leak, you will no longer be able to call the emergency gas service.

Residents of multi-apartment buildings will soon pay extra for gas, or rather, for the pipes inside the house, through which the blue fuel goes to the apartments.

This happened after the changes in the gas market - indoor pipes became the common property and responsibility of the residents of the house (OSMD). Now the supplier is responsible for the condition of the pipes leading to the house, and then it is the responsibility of the residents. They themselves should look for companies that would monitor the pipes and, if necessary, repair them. However, such agreements were concluded by a few units, and gas pipes were not inspected by anyone for several years.

In order to restore order and return responsibility, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the relevant law and handed over the pipes to the gas suppliers.

"That is, the one who serves the external engineering networks, to whom they belong, in fact, is the one who should deliver from this point A to point B and continue exactly to the apartment. And for this they will issue a corresponding bill," says Andrey Nikonchuk, head of the Association of Professional Real Estate Managers.

While the pipes have not yet been handed over to the new contractors, if you suspect a gas leak, you should call the emergency gas service, and after the contract is concluded, call the new contractors.

The cost of service will be recorded in a new column in the gas bill. It is not yet clear what this amount will be. The national regulator has not yet made public the formula by which everything will be calculated. Experts assume that at least the condition of the house and networks and the volume of gas consumption will be taken into account.

"I heard different numbers. It can be from 350 hryvnias per apartment per hour to XNUMX hryvnias per apartment. You see, this is such a rush," said Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy and Housing and Communal Services Aleksey Kucherenko.

At the same time, if the supplier does its job poorly, residents will be able to choose another company.
