In the Odessa district of Arkady, during rush hours, gigantic traffic jams are constantly created on Genuezskaya and Posmytny streets, and traffic is almost completely paralyzed. This is not least due to the construction of new high-rise buildings in the area.
In this regard, in Odessa City Hall is planning a complete reconstruction of Genouezskaya Street. Vice-Mayor Mykhailo Kuchuk announced this on July 5.
According to him, the project should be ready in September or October 2021 — in order to start the capital repair work next year.
We remind you that according to the city hall's plans, there should be four full traffic lanes on Genuezskaya Street (instead of the current two) and a dedicated lane for tram route No. 5.
And there will be a reverse lane for traffic on Posmytny Street. Traffic along it will be carried out in the morning in the direction of the city, and in the evening - in the opposite direction.
According to the authorities, this will be enough to "ensure normal traffic" in the Arcadia area.
