In the near future, Ukraine may face a full-fledged energy crisis. Expert and member of the collegium of the State Inspection of Nuclear Regulation of Ukraine Olha Kosharna told ElitExpert about this agency.
"Now that Russia has stopped the supply of energy coal to Ukraine, we are facing blackouts and a collapse of the economy. And the main paradox of the situation is that our state has a lot of coal reserves and could have prevented it," Kosharna emphasized.
According to her, the government's anti-crisis headquarters was not involved in increasing the reserves of domestic coal, but the Minister of Energy cut the ribbons on "energy" facilities that have not yet been put into operation.
"This situation was easy to calculate. It was necessary to recognize the problem, declare an emergency in the energy sector at the level of the Cabinet of Ministers, outline all the steps, ask the population to save electricity... Inaction, incompetence and misunderstanding of the consequences, and only the desire not to bring bad news to the Office of the President, led to such a situation that threatens Ukrainian riots." , - said Kosharna.
