The other day, vaccination of children against COVID-19 began in Odessa. Mobile teams have been formed in all children's city clinics. Vaccinations are given at the request of parents: those who have already turned 12 years old and in the absence of contraindications. Vaccination offices were opened in all children's clinics of the city.
Director of Odesa Children's Clinic No. 4 Natalya Andrievskaya told ElitExpert about the features of children's vaccination against the coronavirus. According to her, preparations for vaccination of children at the clinic began a week ago. For this, the medical institution created a waiting list, in which more than 500 applicants were registered.
"During the last two months, parents have approached us about vaccinating their children - mostly over 16 years old. We examined everyone and referred them to family medicine centers. There is no special preparation for vaccination of children. First, children are examined by a pediatrician with whom the child's family has made a declaration. If the child does not have any contraindications, then the doctor notes this and issues a referral for vaccination," Natalya Andrievskaya said.
Children are vaccinated only with the Comirnaty vaccine from Pfizer/BioNTech. Preference is given to children who have concomitant diseases.
It should be noted that the Ministry of Health gave permission to vaccinate Pfizer, as it showed satisfactory results in children in Great Britain, USA, Canada, EU countries and Israel.
The purpose of children's vaccination is to stop the spread and morbidity of the "Delta" stamp among teenagers.
