Emmanuel Vitorgan: about family, cinema and love for Odessa

The ElitExpert correspondent had the opportunity to interview the Vitorganov family

On September 12, a closed meeting of the People's Artist of Russia Emmanuel Gedeonovich Vitorgan with the intellectual elite of Odessa took place in the "Odessa guest house" on Preobrazhenskaya 11. The evening was interesting and soulful. Vytorgan read his poems, sang songs, told stories from his life, told anecdotes and warm memories of friends and those who are no longer there. For more than three hours, the actor and his wife Irina gave the guests a sea of warm emotions that caused both laughter and sadness, brought tears and smiles.

All the action was accompanied by a sound design and a video sequence. The guests "visited" the birthday of Iosif Kobzon, saw new clips recorded by the star family, heard a song written by Igor Kruty, and in almost every slide you could meet people dear to Emmanuel Gedeonovich.

"I remember all of you and I am grateful to fate that I lived in your time and was happy that I communicated with you," Emmanuel Vytorgan spoke from the stage in a velvety voice.

After this composition, all the guests got up from the tables and honored the memory of great people who left a huge mark in the world of theater and cinema. But there was no sadness at the meeting, the humorous sketches immediately changed the emotions of the guests.

"Sit, sit" - said the old professor, entering the women's toilet!

"The husband came home tired, so he paid the marital debt with money."

"The man of the beloved woman will first go blind, and then go deaf."

"Sometimes a good mood is transmitted only sexually."

After the meeting, the correspondent of the ElitExpert news agency had the opportunity to interview the Vytorganov family and ask about their family, children, cinema and, of course, their love for Odessa.

It turned out that one Ukrainian project led to a chain of other proposals...

"This is all Kyivan, this Kyiv started. I was invited to shoot a film, and we immediately agreed, because I found the material very interesting.", - said Emmanuel Gedeonovych.

But this is not the only project where the actor was invited to play, adds his wife Irina.  "I found out that Emmanuel is in Kyiv, calls for the following projects began to arrive. We came for one month, but they started contacting us with other ideas. Now there are already 4 projects in which we are involved."

In the conversation, Iryna Vitorgan also said that they had not come to Odessa for two years and now they are very glad that there was an opportunity to visit the southern capital. We asked whether Odessa had changed since the actor's last visit, and what impressions he had left. After all, as we know, South Palmyra occupies a special place in the master's life, since all of his relatives are Odessans.

"This is an amazing city, which, to my great regret, has changed very little. I mean houses, roads. And there was hope that the city would become better. Odessa is amazing, and such a number of talented people have been produced here, it's simply incredible. I think there is hardly any other city where there would be such a number of talented people. But, unfortunately, due to the political situation, the city obviously does not protect such people, and people are the city." - says Emmanuel Vitorgan.

We also learned that the audience will soon see the actor in several new roles. Among them is the role of a pathologist in the TV series "Captive in the Past" by Valentin Opalev, and the role of a boxing coach in the film by Vlad Ryashin.

Despite an active acting schedule, Emmanuel Vitorgan does not forget about the theater, even as a spectator: "I like going to theaters. And even if I don't like it, I will definitely go backstage after the end and thank the guys. Because this is work, they rehearsed for a long time, but they really wanted it to be good. But, it happens that what was planned did not work out, and there are many reasons for this, including in the direction."

Talking about the theater, we became interested in what kind of theater Emmanuel Vytorgan considers ideal, having such a baggage of work experience?

"It's hard to say. The main thing is that there should be an administration that should take care of everyone present in this room, and a good direction - it depends on them who will be next to each other and who will play this or that role. It is very difficult, there are millions of proofs. It seems to me that the most important thing is a normal attitude towards each other. There is a remarkable example - the Vakhtangov Theater, with good direction and administration. There is an amazing combination of director and artistic director, it's very cool."

In addition, during the conversation, the actor shared the topics from where he gets his strength for cinema, theater and the cultural center. The secret turned out to be quite simple - family. Emmanuel Gedeonovich is the happy father of four children, the youngest, Clara, is a little over a year old.

"It seems to me that you should not insist only on your own, a child understands a lot, and you can learn something from him. Children are amazing creatures and we adults can observe a lot from them and from their reactions to this or that event. I think that the relationship of parents to each other is very important for children - it is a model for them, and they see it immediately and recognize it instantly. And if there is some kind of conflict between the spouses, the children immediately feel it, that's why the nerves and everything else. Therefore, we, adults, need to be wiser." - advises the master.

At the end of the conversation, Emmanuel Vitorgan addressed our readers: "My dear, I don't intend to lecture anyone, everyone lives their life, and, God forbid, everything will be fine. I just really want each of us to remember that there are people around us who live life in their own way. And it does not always turn out well. We have to be very careful with each other. We are grateful to this city, grateful to the people who live and reside, who left and spent their lives in this city."
