21,1 billion hryvnias is the debt of the population of Ukraine for the consumed natural gas and the service for its delivery at the beginning of October 2020.

According to the agency, a critical situation with debt has developed in the Donetsk, Odesa, Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions, where the debts of residents of each of these regions exceed two billion hryvnias.
Domestic consumers of Rivne, Kirovohrad and Cherkassy regions pay the most for gas. In general, the debt of the population for housing and communal services in Ukraine has reached 54,3 billion hryvnias. At the same time, the share of gas debts is the most significant in the structure of the debt of the population for housing.
In particular, the debt of the population for heat and hot water, as of September 30, amounted to 16,3 billion hryvnias, and for the supply and distribution of electricity — 4,98 billion hryvnias.
As previously stated by the Association of Energy Resource Suppliers, after the opening of the natural gas market to the population from August 1, 2020, a catastrophic drop in the level of bills for gas consumed by household consumers is observed.
