Moderators of the social networks Facebook and Twitter marked the publications of US presidential candidates Donald Trump and Joe Biden with notes that the counting of votes is ongoing and the results of the elections are still unknown.
So, a message appeared on Trump's Facebook page: "We're going well, but they're trying to steal the election. We will never let them do it. You can't vote after the voting is closed!"
In turn, Biden wrote: "Keep the faith, guys. We will win. It is not my business or Donald Trump's that will declare the winner of this election. This is the voters' business. We are satisfied with where we are. We believe that we are on the way to victory in these elections." The administrators of the social network accompanied both of these posts with the following message: "Votes are still being counted. The winner of the presidential elections in 2020 is still unknown."
"After President Trump began making premature announcements of victory, we began to publish notices on Facebook and Instagram that the votes were still being counted and that the winner was not yet predicted. We also put stickers with this information on the records of both candidates," explained these measures on Facebook.
Meanwhile, Twitter flagged Trump's publication with similar content with a message that it could be misleading regarding participation in elections or other public events.
