Switzerland became one of the last countries in Western Europe to support the legalization of same-sex marriage. This is evidenced by the preliminary results of the September 26 referendum. This is reported DW.
According to the forecast of the sociological institute gfs.bern, published half an hour after the polls closed, 64% of the participants in the referendum supported the legalization of same-sex marriages. The error is 2% and cannot affect the final result. The country's government has yet to determine when the relevant amendments to the law will enter into force.
Opponents of "marriage for all" tried to convince the people of Switzerland to vote against photographs of crying children. They claimed without any scientific basis that it is difficult for children to live in LGBT families. Opponents of same-sex marriage also spoke against the permission for same-sex couples to adopt children and the access of lesbian couples to the sperm bank.
