The chief state sanitary doctor Igor Kuzyn said that the peak of the fourth wave of COVID-19 is expected at the end of October-November.
According to him, if earlier the Ministry of Health believed that the peak load on the health care system would occur in November-December of this year, now it is clear that the surge began much earlier. Therefore, the deadlines have been moved.
"Now it is clear that the peak loads will definitely fall on November and will affect October. And whether they will be delayed until December - it's hard to say yet," said the health doctor.
He added that it is possible to reduce these peak loads only by vaccinating the population.
"You need to choose a vaccination point, choose the drug you want to be vaccinated with, and get vaccinated. Now the Ministry of Health has shortened the intervals between the two doses of the vaccine as much as possible. This was done so that as many people as possible were covered by vaccinations precisely before the beginning of the epidemic rise in morbidity," added Kuzyn.
