Belarus has declared its readiness to host nuclear weapons

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, said that the country is ready to deploy nuclear weapons in the event of a threat from NATO. Makey in an interview with the RT Arabic TV channel, the state agency BelTA reports.

"The fact that President Alexander Lukashenko stated that we are considering the possibility of deploying nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus is one of the possible responses to possible future actions by the North Atlantic Alliance on the territory of Poland."

According to Makey, NATO has come closer to the Belarusian borders, while the military activity of the alliance and the number of military scientists have increased significantly.

According to him, NATO is now creating a certain bridgehead against Russia in Ukraine.

"We see that the number of US and NATO servicemen stationed on the territory of Ukraine is increasing," he said.

The minister believes that what is happening in Ukraine is being used by the leadership of the North Atlantic Alliance to increase opportunities in the region.
