On the morning of July 23, a solemn event on the occasion of the opening of the XXXII Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo took place on the square near the Odesa OGA. The Olympic flag was raised there.
The celebrations were attended by young students of Odessa sports schools, prize winners and participants of the previous Olympic Games.
Those present were congratulated by the Chairman of the Odesa Regional State Administration Serhiy Hrynevetskyi, First Deputy Chairman of the Odesa Regional Council Oleg Radkovsky and the champions of the last Olympic Games, who wished our national team to play the anthem of Ukraine as often as possible in Tokyo.
The participants of the event noted that the Olympic Games, uniting almost all the countries of the world, became not just competitions, but a whole philosophy of life.
Let us remind you that seven athletes from the Odesa region will take part in the current Olympics. They will begin their participation on the second day of the competition, when tennis player Diana Yastremskaya and boxer Tsotne Rogava will enter the arena.
