In five months of 2021, 17 residents of the Odesa region died. This is reported by the regional service of the state government.
For comparison, 2020 people died in January-May 13, that is, the mortality rate this year has increased by almost 661% compared to the previous year. The reason for this is called COVID-29.
In addition, the birth rate in the region is traditionally decreasing: in five months of this year, 7580 babies were born in the Odesa region, compared to 8025 in the same period in 2020.
Thus, the natural decrease in the population of the Odesa region from January to May 2021 amounted to 9995 people.
