The "Infoksvodokanal" branch continues large-scale work on the modernization of the "Severnaya" and "Yuzhnaya" biological treatment stations in Odessa. This was reported in the press service of the enterprise.
Today, the load on sewage treatment plants has increased many times. Due to the active use of chemicals in everyday life and production, the wastewater itself has become more aggressive in composition. The process of their cleaning is also complicated by the increase in the content of pollutants, for example, phosphates and petroleum products from car washes, fats from public catering establishments. Many entrepreneurs are in no hurry to comply with the rules for receiving wastewater in terms of installing local treatment facilities, which forces biological treatment stations to work to the limit of their capabilities.
Therefore, in order to prevent emergency situations and deterioration of sewage treatment, "Infoksvodokanal" installs modern equipment.
Initially, the specialists of the water utility completely renovated the cleaning grates and the building in which they are located. After all, this is where the primary sewage treatment begins. Large waste and debris contained in the water are collected on the bars of the grates, then removed with a rake and delivered to a container for a crusher.
At least 150 million liters of wastewater pass through the grates at SBO "Severnaya" per day alone, which, due to its aggressive composition, do not spare the metal of the treatment grates.
That is why "Infoksvodokanal" purchased and installed stainless steel gratings of the European model of the Swedish company "Anderson", which will be able to last for a long period. The operation of these grates is fully automated, which means that there is no longer any need to involve station personnel in the process of removing large waste.
In addition, the aeration system in aeration tanks was previously replaced at the biological treatment stations, deep energy-efficient pumps of the Danish company Grundfos were installed, and new power lines were laid. This year, the mud compactor and laboratories were also modernized.
As the director of Infoxvodokanal, Igor Lysenko, noted: "Timely replacement of equipment significantly improves the quality and reliability of wastewater treatment, because this, first of all, is the key to the ecological safety of the waters of the Odessa Bay. And they will not stop there. In addition to the treatment facilities, the Main Sewage Pumping Station, which pumps more than half of the city's sewage to SBO "Severnaya", is also being renovated.
