In Odessa, on the night of Saturday, February 20, a fire broke out in the maternity hospital No. 5 on Marshala Govorov Street. A room on the third floor caught fire. Among the evacuees were 16 infants, the press service of the State Emergency Service of the Odesa Region reported.
Rescuers were notified of the fire at 03:02. Even before the arrival of the firefighters, the institution's administration evacuated 74 people, including 46 women, 16 infants and 12 medical workers. There are no dead or injured.
Firefighters localized the fire at 03:24 and extinguished it by 03:33. The likely cause of the fire was a short circuit in the electrical wiring in the refrigerator.
