Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine recorded an illegal mechanism for registration of foreign students in a private Ukrainian medical university. More than 300 foreigners were his students, which brought in 1 million dollars per hour. This was reported in the SBU press center.
The operatives of the special service established that the organizers acted in collusion with the officials of the state enterprise in the field of education. The structure supports foreign students, arranging those who wish to attend educational institutions in different regions of the country. Applying to a medical school cost an average of 3 US dollars. The "package of services" provided for the absence of mandatory submission of relevant documents and passing of exams.
As part of the initiated criminal proceedings, law enforcement officers conducted a number of searches in the office premises of a state enterprise and one of the universities, and also obtained temporary access to documents confirming the illegal enrollment of applicants.
"During the investigation, the defendants in the criminal proceedings tried to destroy documentation that could be used in court. At this time, the investigation is ongoing," the SBU said.
