The SGB informed Mykola Azarov about the suspicion of treason

Because of Kharkov, I agree

Investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation, in agreement with the prosecutor of the Prosecutor General's Office, informed the former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov of suspicion of treason by a group of persons. This was reported in the press service of the GBR.

The pre-trial investigation established that the content and conditions of the Agreement between Ukraine and Russia on the issue of the presence of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine were imposed by the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev on the then Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov in Moscow at two o'clock in the morning on April 21, 2010, the day before the signing .

Reliably understanding the consequences of signing the specified Agreement for Ukraine, the former Prime Minister fulfilled the role assigned to him in the commission of the crime, namely, he ensured the approval and approval of the draft documents by the relevant officials (ministers, heads of law enforcement agencies, i.e. on behalf of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine), promoted the realization of the interests of the Russian Federation at all stages of the coordination of the draft Agreement before its implementation.

The investigation received the originals of documents testifying to Azarov's deliberate actions to the detriment of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. In the future, this led to the occupation of Crimea by the Russian Federation.

The specified actions were carried out according to a preliminary agreement by a group of persons with the then President of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych, who is currently in hiding.

In accordance with the legislation, suspicion was directed to Azarov at his last known place of residence.

Let us remind you that bringing to criminal responsibility for committing treason has no statute of limitations. In January 2021, the FBI already reported suspicion of treason to former President Viktor Yanukovych (Part 1, Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
