Zelensky approved the strategy of deoccupation and reintegration of Crimea

The document defines a set of measures aimed at restoring the territorial integrity and state sovereignty of Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky issued a decree implementing the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated March 11, 2021 "On the Strategy of Deoccupation and Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol." This was reported in the press service of the head of state.

This document defines a complex of diplomatic, military, economic, informational, humanitarian and other measures aimed at restoring the territorial integrity and state sovereignty of Ukraine within internationally recognized borders by deoccupation and reintegration of Crimea.

The strategy defines the priorities for the state for the protection of human rights and freedoms, violated as a result of the temporary occupation of the Crimean Peninsula, as well as the main directions of the corresponding economic, social, humanitarian, environmental, information, defense and security policies.

Also, the Strategy gives a clear signal to the international community that Ukraine is consistent in its actions to restore territorial integrity, which was violated due to Russia's neglect of its international obligations.

According to the Strategy, within the framework of the state policy to ensure the de-occupation of the territory of Crimea, Ukraine initiates an international negotiation process to determine the modalities for the liberation of the temporarily occupied territory and the restoration of the constitutional system of Ukraine on this territory, based, in particular, on the provisions of the Memorandum on Security Guarantees in Connection with the Accession of Ukraine to Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, as well as on the results of the activities of the Crimean Platform.

"Ukraine is establishing and developing the Crimean platform as a key foreign policy instrument for the consolidation of international efforts aimed at the de-occupation and restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine, overcoming the consequences caused by the temporary occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol by the Russian Federation, as well as protecting the rights and interests of Ukrainian citizens," - said in the Strategy.

Also, the document is a call to unite international efforts in protecting the norms of international law and developing peace and security in Europe.

The Cabinet of Ministers must develop a plan for the implementation of the Strategy for the Deoccupation and Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Crimea, on the basis of which the relevant state authorities will prepare and implement measures to ensure the deoccupation and reintegration of the peninsula.
