The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, made radical changes in the country's power bloc.
He removed Venediktova from the post of Prosecutor General in accordance with the second part of Article 11 of the law "On the Legal Regime of Martial Law", it is stated in decree.
Others decree Zelensky entrusted the duties of the Prosecutor General to Deputy Prosecutor General Oleksiy Symonenko.
In addition. the president by another decree released Ivan Bakanov, acting as the head of the Security Service of Ukraine. We will remind that Bakanov is a close friend of Zelenskyi, who previously had nothing to do with law enforcement agencies. This appointment was sharply criticized in 2019.
Recently, a number of mass media, citing sources, wrote that the president plans to dismiss Ivan Bakanov from the position of head of the Security Service due to a series of failed operations and the quick occupation of the Kherson region, which could have been avoided.
