The plane was flying from Serbia to Jordan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine confirmed the accident of the An-12 plane in Greece:

"A Ukrainian transport plane AN-12, which was transporting dangerous cargo on the route Serbia-Jordan-Bangladesh, crashed at night in the north of Greece. The crew consisted of eight citizens of Ukraine. The preliminary cause of the accident is the failure of one of the engines," wrote the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Oleg Nikolenko.

Greek rescue services are currently working at the scene.

The An-12 transport plane of the Ukrainian airline, which crashed in Greece, was transporting defense products to Bangladesh. The plane took off from Serbia and had all the necessary permits.

The minister stated that the customer of the defense products was the Ministry of Defense of Bangladesh, adding that the Ukrainian company is only the owner of the plane, and the cargo carried by the plane belongs to the Serbian company Valir.
