Zelenskyi told how and why he tried to influence the head of the Constitutional Court

Volodymyr Zelenskyi spoke about his acquaintance with the head of the Constitutional Court, Alexander Tupytskyi

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, spoke about his acquaintance with the head of the Constitutional Court, Oleksandr Tupytskyi, and how he tried to influence the head of the judicial body so that the KSU would not declare the laws on language, banks, and land unconstitutional.

The relevant statement he gave an interview to the publication "Focus".

"He (Tupytsky — Ed.) came to me and said that there are some unconstitutional things. I agreed with him. He said that they are statesmen who defend the Constitution. "Is there any vision in general, where there are threats?" Tupytsky asked me. "Because after the adoption of the law on land reform, I publicly said that God forbid that the Constitutional Court cancel this reform," Zelensky said.

According to Zelenskyi, he told Tupytskyi that there was no need to raise some issues.

"I told him that I cannot influence them, do what you want. "But if you ask me about the state's position, I say: land, banking, and language issues, please do not raise them in order not to split society," I said at that meeting. We shook hands," Zelensky said.
