Tomorrow, November 3, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine plans to continue the consideration of the case on the constitutional submission of 51 people's deputies of Ukraine regarding the constitutionality of the Law of Ukraine "On ensuring the functioning of the Ukrainian language as a state" in closed session.
This is stated in the agenda of the KSU.
Continuation of the consideration of the case on the constitutional representation of 51 people's deputies of Ukraine regarding the conformity of the Constitution of Ukraine (constitutionality) with the Law of Ukraine "On ensuring the functioning of the Ukrainian language as a state" (closed part of the plenary session)," the message says.
It is announced that the meeting will begin at 10:00.
We note that the review of the KSU case began on July 7.
As reported, the authors of the petition claim that the disputed law does not comply with a number of provisions of the Constitution of Ukraine, as it is aimed at discrimination of Russian, other languages of national minorities of Ukraine, and discrimination of citizens on the basis of language. In addition, according to the people's deputies of Ukraine, the law violates the constitutional rights of citizens, namely the right to use and protect the native language, the right to develop the linguistic identity of all indigenous peoples and national minorities of Ukraine; the content and scope of existing rights and freedoms have been narrowed, the KSU reported.
Also, the subject of the right to constitutional representation also considers that the law adopted in violation of the constitutional procedure of consideration and adoption of laws "endangers the application of such an integral element of the principle of the rule of law as the principle of legal certainty."
