At today's meeting, December 15, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a draft law on the extension of the law on the personal status of Donbas for one hour.
302 People's Deputies voted for the corresponding decision in the first reading. In the second bill, 304 deputies supported it.
The Law on the Personal Status of Donbas was adopted back in 2014. It provides that the special order of local self-government in the region comes into force only after extraordinary elections of local self-government bodies. And the voting itself can take place only after the withdrawal of illegal armed formations and military equipment from Ukraine and compliance with a number of other conditions.
