Odessa customs will continue to allow cars with license plates of unrecognized Transnistria into Ukraine

At the request of Moldova.

Ukraine decided to postpone the ban on the entry of cars with Transnistrian license plates until January 10, 2022.

The Odessa customs office reported that the Ukrainian authorities refused the plan to ban the entry of cars with Transnistrian license plates from September 1, 2021, after the Moldovan Embassy in Ukraine appealed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country.

The Odessa customs office reminded that "neutral numbers" can be obtained at vehicle registration points specially opened in Tiraspol and Rybnitsa.

Since September 1, 2018, residents of the unrecognized Transnistrian Moldavian Republic have had the opportunity to re-register their cars in order to receive "neutral numbers", which enable them to participate in international traffic.

Moldova and Ukraine planned to ban cars with the symbols of the unrecognized Transnistria from traveling abroad from January 1, 2020.

Then, at the request of Chisinau, Kyiv postponed the entry into force of this decision to April 1, 2021, and then to September 1, 2021.
