Viktor Kychun, a judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine appointed by the Verkhovna Rada, took the oath of office of a judge of the Constitutional Court, entered this position.
During the solemn ceremony at a special plenary session of the Constitutional Court, Kychun read the text of the oath of the judge of the Constitutional Court and witnessed it with his signature, writes Interfax Ukraine.
Presiding at the solemn meeting, the deputy head of the Supreme Court, Sergey Golovaty, congratulated Kichun on his position as a judge of the Supreme Court, after which a ceremony was held to present Kichun with the attributes of a judge - the mantle and badge of a judge of the Supreme Court, as well as a certificate.
Golovaty wished Kichuna to bear the title of judge of the Constitutional Court with dignity and to protect the constitutional values, rights and freedoms of a person and a citizen.
The head of the Supreme Court Valentina Danyshevskaya, the head of the Supreme Council of Justice Andrey Ovsienko, the permanent representative of the Verkhovna Rada in the Constitutional Court Olga Sovgyria and the president's representative in the Constitutional Court Fedor Venislavsky were present at the solemn ceremony.
After the swearing-in ceremony, Danyshevskaya, on behalf of the Supreme Court and courts of general jurisdiction, congratulated the new judge of the Constitutional Court and the court as a whole with the "long-awaited addition".
She wished Kichuna wisdom in making decisions, he serves the people of Ukraine and expressed confidence that the new judge of the Constitutional Court understands the full degree of responsibility assigned to him.
"May all three branches of power always find balance in your decisions," Danyshevskaya added.
