Yulia Tymoshenko: "Batkivshchyna" will not allow the destruction of social protection and the rights of working people

During the visit to Switzerland, Yulia Tymoshenko and the delegation from Ukraine are working to protect the labor rights of Ukrainians during the war.

On this stressed the head of the "Batkivshchyna" party on the air of the national telethon "Edyny Novyni".

"It is unacceptable to destroy the rights of working people, it is impossible to destroy people's social protection! We are alarmed by the fact that at this time 32 draft laws have been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada, 6 of which have already been adopted, which greatly restrict the rights of people, and which completely change the entire situation of unemployment protection for the worse," Tymoshenko was indignant.

The politician noted that one of the main tasks of the "Motherland" delegation in Switzerland is to consolidate international organizations together with the European Union and the European Commission for the protection of people's rights during the war.

"And now we are working so that both the ILO and the European Commission jointly take control of the adoption of those laws that protect people. We are working to prevent the collapse of the social security system in Ukraine. This is important, especially during the war," said the leader of the Batkivshchyna party.

Also, during the visit, Yulia Tymoshenko aims to renew the protection of people who lost their jobs as a result of the war, and not allow the pension system to be destroyed and pensions to be transferred to private pension funds.

"We are against the fact that the rights that were fought for centuries by trade unions around the world are now being taken away from working people. And now, unfortunately, this is happening in our parliament. This is the purpose of our visit, and we want to do it constructively, together, as Ukraine's path to joining the EU, as preparation of all the necessary conditions for the economic revival of Ukraine after the war. Protecting people is our goal!" Yulia Tymoshenko concluded.

As part of a working visit to Switzerland, Yulia Tymoshenko, the head of the Batkivshchyna party held a meeting with the Director General of the International Labor Organization, Gilbert Fossun Ungbo.
