Zelensky said under what conditions martial law would be introduced in the country

Ukraine stands for peace and the settlement of issues only by peaceful means.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, said that martial law would be introduced in the country in the event of a broad escalation on the part of the Russian Federation. This became known during a joint briefing between Zelenskyi and Estonian President Alar Karis.

"As for the martial law, everything is very simple. This question is clear to us. We believe that there will be no war, a powerful one, against Ukraine and there will be no wide escalation on the part of the Russian Federation. If there is, martial law will be introduced," the head of the Ukrainian state noted.

He added that Ukraine stands for peace and the settlement of issues only peacefully.

The Speaker of the Council, Ruslan Stefanchuk, also stated that the Council is ready for any development of events, including the introduction of special constituencies in Ukraine.

"This should be preceded by a presidential decree, which will be considered in the Verkhovna Rada, but I really hope that we will not get to that point. "Ukraine has never been willing to resolve any issues by military means," Stefanchuk said.
