The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, signed the Law "On Amendments to Some Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regarding Social Protection of Persons with Disabilities", which was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on July 15. This is reported on the official website of the head of state.
The document will promote the realization of the rights and freedoms of persons with disabilities in accordance with the requirements of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
Thus, the law prescribes the procedure for providing persons with disabilities with housing adapted to their needs. In particular, this can be done by changing the housing in which a person with a disability lives, by changing the terms of employment.
It is also possible to provide a person with a disability with adapted housing, if the person transfers the residential premises belonging to him to the ownership of the territorial community.
At the same time, housing (residential premises) provided to such a person as a result of replacement must meet the requirements of barrier-free access and be adapted to his needs.
The procedure for replacing housing (residential premises) is approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
