The population census in Ukraine will be conducted in cooperation with the American technology company Apple. This was reported by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi Twitter.
A Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Apple was signed today.
"I am proud that Ukraine will become the second country in the world to conduct a population census in cooperation with Apple. Today, an important memorandum of understanding was signed by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and this technological giant. Digitization is an absolute priority of our state," Zelensky wrote on Twitter.
As a reminder, the official population census must be held in 2023, and the last time it was conducted was in 2001. At that time, the population of Ukraine was 48,45 million people. At the end of January 2020, the authorities conducted a trial census using SIM card data analysis. According to estimates, the number of Ukrainians has decreased since 2001 by 11,45 million people, and at that time it was 37 million people.
Now the Ministry of Digital Affairs is developing a project to carry out such a process as technologically as possible.
